Butte County Public Health (BCPH) will begin collecting contact information from residents and businesses who are interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. This registration process will allow BCPH to notify individuals when the vaccine is available for the phase and tier in which they are categorized, as defined by the California Department of Public Health. This registration process does NOT book a vaccination appointment. It collects contact information so individuals c...an be notified when they are eligible to be invited for vaccine. In addition to registering for the vaccine, individuals or groups who think they may have been missed during Phase 1a can notify BCPH and still receive the vaccine. If you plan to eat refrigerated or frozen meat, poultry, fish, or eggs while they are still at safe temperatures, it is important that each item is thoroughly cooked to a safe minimum internal temperature to ensure that any food-borne bacteria that may be present are destroyed. However, if at any point the food was above 40 F for 2 hours or more (or 1 hour if temperatures are above 90 F) discard it. See more

Before a power shutoff, plan ahead to keep your medication safely stored: - Keep a list of current medications and the prescribed dosage. - Keep a spare supply of medication when the power goes out as your pharmacy may also lose power and be closed. - Have a plan to store your medication if it needs to be cold. Use ice, dry ice or freezer packs. You can also ask a trusted friend of family member who has power to hold your medication.

Butte County Public Health 01.07.2020

During a power shutoff, keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible. The food in your refrigerator will keep safe for up to 4 hours during a power outage. A full freezer will hold a safe temperature for approximately 48 hours (24 hours if it is half-full and the door remains closed).
