Help rebuild our History. https://www.facebook.com/groups/rebuildHRCB/permalink/1317594581916698/
Our Museum and Archives remain closed due to the pandemic but that doesn’t mean we are idle. Some exciting things are happening at BCHS, one of which is a complete website re-build that includes an online store. We have not finished adding items yet, but look it over when you have the chance and you just might find the holiday gift you need for the history buff on your list. https://buttecountyhistory.com/
Saving a little bit of History today in Bangor!
I just saw this post on the New England Historic Genealogical Society's daily blog Vita Brevis. I did a double take thinking "Is there another Mother Orange tree?" The answer is, no, this article is about Butte County's own Mother Orange tree from an unexpected source. It is very well written, and I thought that other lovers of Butte County history would enjoy it.
Good News for our Honey Run Bridge.
Perpetuating History.
Stopped by the Ehmann Home for a quick inspection and hello to our beloved Alberta Tracy.
Another pictorial update on the windows, porch awning and door.
We are saddened to announce that BCHS will not be re-opening the Museum on Spencer Street tomorrow, July 11th. Our Board of Directors will be re-evaluating the opening date for that facility and we will let you know as soon as we know.
Some more pics from today's on going Restoration of historic new windows at the Ehman Home.

Homesickness was a common affliction in the mining camps of Butte County's early years. Levi Moak and his brother John came to California in 1853 to try their l...uck at mining and by 1854 had found their way to Oregon Gulch. John was single, but Levi left a wife and two children at home in Albany County New York. See more
Greetings fellow historians. As President of the Butte County Historical Society I personally want to wish you a Grand Memorial Day. I saw a marker today that the Society did back in 1982 with other like minded groups. Let's do some more.
