Update for CAL FIRE Butte Unit - Currently in Southern Butte County and around the greater Oroville area there is a large influx of smoke and ash from the Bear Fire up in Plumas County near Bucks Lake. The current winds are pushing it down into these areas, there is no fire currently in Butte County

It has been a pleasure to work with all of you in Butte County for the past 14 years as your Director of Development Services. After 35 years of service in 4 different Northern California counties, today is my last day of working for Butte County. The good news for all of you is that Butte County has hired my replacement, Paula Daneluk. She is the perfect person to take Butte County forward with the Land Use challenges ahead. The Butte County Team from Bus #5 showed our support for the Ag Industry today by joining in the Farm Tour of North Valley Ag Services, Richard McGowan Farming Inc, The Nature Conservancy's Vina Plains Preserve, Mooney Farms and The Abbey of New Clairvaux Vineyard. What an amazing Ag Sector in and around Butte County. As you may know, our Butte County General Plan 2030 has the goal to Protect, Maintain, Promote AND Enhance Agriculture. Today, the Butte County Board of Supervisors adopted the Camp Fire Remembrance Resolution. In recognition of this, our Department will take part in 85 seconds of silence/remembrance for the 85 lives lost THIS Friday (11/8) at 11:08 am. If practical, we will also turn our lights off in our offices during this remembrance for these 85 seconds as a show of respect and solidarity.

A few minutes after the ribbon-cutting, launching the Butte County Building Permit Center, Dan Stuermer from Norcal Development applied for his Building Permit.
