Renowned horror and cult film publication FANGORIA recently spoke with Butcher Bird Studio's director Michael Shlain, about his recent haunting oeuvre: In a Foreign Town. Released in March 2021, the short film is free to watch online through horror platform ALTER and based off acclaimed horror author Thomas Ligotti's stories of darkness and existential dread. "After years' worth of American decline, eco-collapse, and disease, most anyone with a modicum of self-awareness occasionally feels that sense of fundamental wrongness whispering (or, in some instances, shrieking) to us from the backs of our skulls. We recently teamed up with Netflix Geeked to create a live, Geeked Watch Party of their global fan event, #Tudum, featuring sneak peeks and information on new and upcoming #Netflix content!

The happiest surprise I got was actually the positive response from our chat feed throughout the run of the show. They suggested lines of dialogue for us, voted for choices that they thought would help save our heroes, and even named a character in the final episode.
