Our students were little paleontologist today. Thank you Ms. Candy and Ms. Brandei for coming up with such fun activities.

Dr Seuss week was lots of fun!

Today we celebrated Valentine’s Day! The kids had a wonderful time.

When you have a "regular" child, you feel reasonably assured that class participation and decent study habits will result in good grades. These kids have close friends. They get invited to participate in social things like dances and weekend gatherings. They make the teams, auditioned organizations and clubs. But when you have a child with certain differences, this is often not the case. Learning may take longer, both academically and socially. Despite their tremendous effort...s, results are often a fraction of their peers and social acceptance is fleeting, setting them up for painful comparisons and bitter frustration. Instead of a fun and fulfilling experience, school can become a breeding ground for depression and anxiety, and assignments a battle ground at home. It is exhausting for parent and child alike. This is the week of SPED (Special Education), Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) awareness. For all the children who struggle every day to succeed in a world that does not recognize their gifts and talents, and for those who are walking beside them, please let this be a gentle reminder to be kind and accepting of ALL people. Recognize that the "playing field" is not always a level surface. Children who learn differently are not weird. They are merely gifted in ways that our society does not value enough. Yet they want what everyone else wants: To be accepted!! If you choose, please copy and paste this in honor of all children who are deemed "different". Our world would be far less beautiful without them.

Despite everything that happened in 2020 we couldn’t be more blessed with having the best families. We wouldn’t be Busy Fingers Daycare without you. Here’s some photos of this past year. We wish you all a Happy New Year!

Busy Fingers Daycare was on Fox 5 News today!!! All the kids thought it was so cool Ms. Irene was on TV. We all love her!!

Everyday the kids like to trade off being the cleaning helpers. Thanks to our friends who like to make Busy Fingers Daycare a nice and clean place.

Look at the differences between a typical preschool child’s hand (left) and a typical 7 year old hand (right). Want to know why a preschool aged child isn’t a...ble to write yet? This is why! Their hands are still developing and are not fully formed. So what should they be doing to support this? PLAY!! Playdough, colouring, cutting, gluing, playing outside, digging in dirt, sensory play, dress up play, science experiments, beading, puzzles, throwing balls, etc. . All of these things help their hands develop. When they are physically ready to write, they will! No need to rush them, they will show you when they are ready. via @Raisingherbarefoot

Learning comes in many forms: visual/spatial, auditory, verbal/linguistic, kinesthetic, logical/mathematical, interpersonal and intrapersonal.

The children have been so good that today they only did 1 hr of school and the rest of the day was fun, fun, fun!

Good morning, I hope you are all doing well! CDA & YMCA has put out info to help Essential parents with Childcare expenses. Busy Fingers Daycare is taking applications.
