REMINDER! Burbank Water and Power will never call you and threaten to disconnect your water or power! This is a scam! Scammers sometimes use spoofing tec...hnology that makes your caller ID display BWP‘s name and published phone number. If someone claiming to be BWP calls you and asks you to make an immediate payment or your services will be disconnected, hang up! Scammers are commonly using automated phone call systems that deliver a pre-recorded message. The message prompts the customer to press one to talk to a BWP representative. This is a scammer posing as BWP. The scammer will tell customers that the BWP lobby is closed and they will need to make a payment by purchasing a prepaid credit card from a retailer or services will be disconnected. Do not make a payment! Hang up! You can always check the status of your BWP account online or contact BWP customer service at (818) 238-3700.

The Burbank Police Officers’ Association understands that the issue of wearing face coverings has become both contentious and politically charged. Our chosen calling is to keep the peace in an unbiased and objective manner. In that spirit, we encourage all community members to show respect and compassion in their interactions. This includes any contact that you might have with employees from Wildan Engineering. In the end, these individuals are human beings hired by the C...ity of Burbank to do a job. We would hope that agree or disagree with their charge, that you would be respectful in any exchange with them. This will reduce the chances of uniformed police officers having to become involved in this issue, which was the goal of the Burbank Police Officers’ Association from the beginning. We appreciate your continued support and consideration! See more

EOW - MOUNTED UNIT TEXAS" Sadly, Burbank Police Mounted Unit horse "Texas" passed away yesterday. He served Burbank Police Department and the citizens of Burbank well for 13 years! He was 26.5 years old (79.5 in human years approximately). He peacefully passed away in a beautiful pasture with his buddy Maverick by his side. He was draped and buried with a "Thin Blue Line" flag to honor his service. He will be sorely missed...

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT CANCELED, POSTPONED TO 2021 Each year, on the first Tuesday in August, the Burbank Police and Fire Departments have joined neighbors and comm...unity members for National Night Out. This annual event promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help make the City of Burbank a safer, more caring place to live and work. National Night Out is normally celebrated with outdoor social festivities, block parties, cookouts, community gatherings, kids activities, interactive safety demonstrations, exhibits by emergency service personnel, and much more. On a national level, many communities are planning to celebrate National Night Out on October 6. However, in adherence to current health ordinances in Los Angeles County related to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Burbank Police and Fire Departments have chosen to cancel this year’s local National Night Out event. It is our hope that next year’s event will be held as expected, in August of 2021. While the Burbank Police and Fire Departments explore new ways to strengthen community partnerships during the Covid-19 pandemic, we encourage members of our community to communicate with one another using contemporary methods, like social media channels and through neighborhood watch groups. By remaining vigilant and observant in our neighborhoods, we can all help to keep each other safe. The Burbank Police Department is on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Nextdoor, YouTube, Nixle, and online, at www.BurbankPD.org. The Burbank Fire Department is on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and online, at www.BurbankFire.us.
