Patented locking systems offer an added level of security to your shop or manufacturing facility. It's difficult to duplicate keys for these types of systems without proper authorization, which will act as a preemptive deterrent to the average thief.
A security strike plate comes with every door lock, and the place where it's attached to the doorframe is usually the weakest point in the entire system. Ask your locksmith about high security strike plates that are made with heavier metal and secured with more stable screws.
Why do you even need a safe? Thieves are generally opportunistic. They will go for the easier targets. By having your valuables in a safe, they have to make an extra effort that most won't go through.
So you've bought a brand new car with a security chip in the key. Did you know that you don't have to have duplicate keys made at a dealership. We can work with you to duplicate not only the key but the security chip and probably save you some time and money.
So how did the ancient pin tumbler lock work, dating back to around 4,000 years ago? This lock relied on a large wooden bolt to secure the door, which had a slot with several holes in its surface. These holes, in turn, were filled with number of wooden pegs that prevented the bolt from being opened.
Since 1998, most new cars in the country have transponder keys. These keys contain a chip that transmits a radio signal to the car, and only when the correct signal is received will the key work properly.
When choosing a safe for your home, cost can be an issue. The security of your valuables should be the first consideration, however, not cost. We will work with you and your budget to get the protection you need.
Did you know that one of the most common ways burglars enter homes is through unlocked doors or windows? Thus, not only is it important that you have quality locks installed, but you need to be vigilant about securing them.
Think about every way that someone can get into your home and make sure it's secure. Some doors that are frequently used, like rear sliding glass doors, aren't always securely locked.
Some locks are designed for use with temporary "builder keys." A number of tiny ball bearings are integrated into the lock. Once the owner's key is inserted and turned, it displaces these ball bearings and renders the builder keys useless.
As with many things, safes are only as good as its weakest point. Make sure the safe you get has good seals, bolts, and has sufficient insulation everywhere. If your door has less fire protection than other parts of the safe, it's only as good as the door. We can help you pick the safe for you.
When you purchase a safe, keep a copy of the combination securely stored so it can be accessed in the event it is forgotten or the one who knows it cannot be reached. By the way, the safe is not the safest place to store a copy of the combination.
We understand that as long as your business has doors that lock, there will be someone who loses their set of building keys. When you suspect that someone’s key is missing, let’s talk about how quickly we can change the locks.
