In most cases, the dislocated shoulder can be manipulated back into place by a doctor in a process known as closed reduction. When the shoulder bone is back in place, severe pain normally subsides. After treatment and recovery, a previously dislocated shoulder may remain more susceptible to reinjury, potentially resulting in chronic shoulder instability and weakness. https://bit.ly/2zmWDPv

Golfer’s elbow is an inflammation of the tendons that attach the forearm muscles to the bone on the inside of the elbow. It is a form of tendinitis of the elbow. Often mistaken for tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow causes pain and inflammation on the inside of the arm and elbow. Foot fractures may be caused by falls, twisting, or direct impact of a foot against a hard object. Treatment depends on the bone fractured and the type of fracture but usually involves a splint or a shoe or boot specially designed to protect the foot. #footfracture #orthopedics

Proximal humerus fractures are most commonly seen in elderly patients with poor bone quality. This one is in a younger patient who has frequent falls due to medical comorbidity. These injuries are usually amenable to non-operative treatment with short term immobilization followed by course of progressive rehab. If there is significant displacement, they can require surgical treatment as seen in this case. This is usually done as outpatient. Due to severity of displacement, th...is patient was admitted and treated acutely. ACL injuries are very common athletic injuries. In younger patients, athletes and people who have participate in pivoting activities or have persistent instability in their knee, surgical treatment can restore stability. Sometimes anatomic variations can predispose patients to ACL injury. Image 1 shows torn ACL. Image 2 shows very tight irregular notch in this patient. One of the greatest benefits of plasma-rich plasma injections is that it is autologous (comes from the patient), so there is no risk of cross-reactivity, immune reaction or disease transmission. Learn if PRP treatments are right for you -- call us today! #PRP #orthopedics

Participating in sports places wear-and-tear on the body, and can lead to orthopaedic injuries. Athletes are susceptible to injuries that include stress fractures and chronic pain, as well as tearing or stretching of internal structures. Sports injuries are often repairable with arthroscopy, which is a minimally invasive procedure that allows doctors to diagnose and sometimes treat joint injuries and disease through small incisions in the skin.
