November is here and we are grateful for all of our volunteers, donors and supporters. You make what we do possible and we thank you!

A big thank you from the BUFA team to all of our friends, family and supporters who came out to the farm today for our first annual open house! We had so much fun meeting new people and showing everyone the farm. We really appreciate our wonderful vendors: Lovegan Donuts, About Face - Face Painting, and Las Maris food truck. All of your support makes it possible for us to provide locally grown, pesticide free produce to those who lack access. Stay tuned as we have an exciting project in the works that we can’t wait to share!

Joining us on Saturday at our open house is Las Maris Food Truck! You’ll get to enjoy their vegan Mexican food for lunch. We can’t wait to see you all Saturday for coffee& vegan donuts from Love Vegan Donuts, free kids crafts and a planting activity, farm tours, face painting from About Face - Face Paintingand more! It’s sure to be a family friendly fun filled day.

Sustain with Our Romaine Romaine lettuce is a great low sodium vegetable. It has a good source of vitamins A and C. According to Medical Health Today, romaine lettuce has high levels of potassium which can help maintain cardiovascular health. Lady bugs are great insects that protect the plants from any other harmful insects. Harmful insects can eat on the produce and transmit viruses to the plants. We are grateful for our cute little friends that eats them. Some lady bugs will have their meals individually or in a mass. According to Buglogical, "A single ladybug may consume as many as 5,000 aphids in its lifetime." So we give thanks to our ladybugs that give us an extra hand to protect our land.

This colorful, low calorie pepper adds a great taste and crunch to any of your meals. Bell peppers have a substantial amount of vitamin A, vitamin C, and potassium. These peppers come in their famous colors of red, orange, and yellow. Bell peppers can be cooked or cooked with in a significant variety. You can enjoy this spice less pepper in your salads, veggie kebabs, sauteed, roasted and so much more. Enjoy this vibrant fruit/vegetable for the rest of this fall season.
