Three Big Shout-outs for our talented Birthday actors - Kimberly Berg (10/04), Matthew David Berman (10/04), Ekaterina Petrova (10/05)! May the Force be always with you!

Serious actors would understand: even in the most casual scene there’s an UNDERCURRENT. Two characters have just met, and exchange formalities. It is here and now to plant the seeds of their future relationship. What does each of them want from the other? Why? How are they planning to turn their intentions into action, and when? What if their attitude is subconscious: unrealized attraction, urge of some kind, inexplicable dislike, etc.? The actors’ biggest advantage is that they know the direction this communication will go, and can start delicately, almost invisibly building its roots, even if the text itself is miles away from revealing them. Focusing on the stem and the leaves is easy; the hard (and fun) part is looking for the roots.
