EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Our primary mission as a swim school is to provide an environment to help kids stay safe and thrive. Our plan at this time is to follow the lead of LA Fitness, which means that we will postpone operations, re-opening our doors as soon as we are advised to do so in a responsible manner. These measures will include:... Adding make-up lessons to your account for the remainder of the month Pausing April billing until we are better able to assess the potential longevity of this situation, and not billing again until we re-open Please note: to date, we have not had any family or staff member report any exposure to COVID-19. Further the CDC has relayed that there is no evidence that COVID-19 is spread through pools: This is a very difficult time and worrying for everyone. I sincerely hope we all stay safe and happy and we all look forward to being back in the pool as soon as possible. We will have limited office hours through our closure, and will do our best to return your messages in a timely manner.

Come on in! The water is sanitary! (And so is everything else here!) We are embodying the British motto, Keep Calm and Carry On by staying OPEN for our students! Per the CDC, the COVID-19 virus cannot survive the chlorine so we encourage you to use this time to use those makeups while school is out.

UPDATE: In light of the Prime Minister announcing UK school closures because I’d the COVID-19 outbreak from end of this week, If any parents in the Leicestershi...re area or the East Midlands UK need online or telephone support attending to their children’s therapeutic needs such as * Anxiety about what is happening now right now * Ideas to manage behaviours at home * space to talk through how to manage therapeutic needs with children being at home in the difficult time. * activity ideas to explain the situation (the resource below from mindheart is useful) Then please get in touch. I am offering a reduced rate to make it affordable for parents and schools to use me as a service. Email me at [email protected]. One of Kaytes House Parents shared this today. Some of it is really well explained. Show a child as much or as little as you feel is appropriate or use it in conjunction with other resources. I think it’s important for children to understand that everyone gets poorly at some point or another no matter how much you try not to be but there are things that you can do to help yourself to stay as well as you can.

Dear British Swim School family, We continue to follow the updates provided from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding novel coronavirus in the United States, including recommendations for businesses and school systems to decrease the chance of spreading the virus. We are working closely with each of our pool partners to ensure proper pool and facility sanitation measures are in place, which includes increased measures according to CDC guidelines. Add...itionally, our teams are following recommended precautions to avoid the spread of any viruses, which includes: Ensuring that all Instructors are washing and/or sanitizing their hands before each lesson Enforcing hand washing of all students before entering the pool Continuing to clean and sanitize all British Swim School equipment per our existing rigorous processes Collaborating with our pool partners to ensure that all pool and facility sanitation measures are in place, and adding additional measures where needed A few of you have asked if the virus was able to spread through pools - yesterday, the CDC provided the following information: Based on this information, we are not planning to close our pools at this time but will continue to follow the advice of the CDC and state health departments as they are presented. Our priority is the safety, health and well-being of our customers and our staff, so we continue to encourage everyone to continue practicing general virus prevention measures including: Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or sleeve Wash your hands regularly and oversee your children to ensure proper hand washing methods Avoid touching your face and handshaking with others Avoid close contact with people who are sick Get your flu shot it’s never too late Stay home if you or your child is sick, or if another family member is sick. Call your doctor and let them know your symptoms and travel history. We will continue to clearly communicate with our British Swim School families about our ongoing efforts regarding the coronavirus. Sincerely, The team at British Swim School
