Final Update! We are all set to go, just need everyone who is participating to be on-site between 5 and 5:15. I plan to be on-site at around 4 PM. Most of the stations are easy to set up, I think the Troop 100 plans to be there earlier because of what they are putting up. I would like to open the ally entrance on time at 5:30, so please be ready! The more in costume the better! Last reminders: wear a protective face mask, no reaching into cars. We will be asking cars to have windows up. Knocking on the glass is ok, wave at the children! Looks to be great weather. So come, and have fun! Update on the Halloween Drive-Thru. I have four of the stations committed: Troop 100 (Spider's Next), Crew 100 (Back to the '80s), Pack 270 (my little poney),... and the church (Great Pumpkin) are each doing a venue. I have space for at least one more, or two even. I also still need a few people in costume to be on the drive-thru, tap on windows, etc. I think I have a gorilla and a pirate so far. For manpower, I need two volunteers to man the exit parking lot off Fairfield Avenue so cars do not try to come in the wrong way. I am also still looking for 3 or 4 people to man the goody bag table at the end to hand off to children in cars. Goodie bags will be stuff later this week, perhaps on Wednesday night. Update on Halloween. We had a Zoom call a few days ago brainstorming on ideas for Halloween. While not well attended, we agreed that we would like to still pro...ceed IF we can get more volunteers. We like the idea of using the church ally-way for a drive-thru event, name to be determined. We envision 4-5 stops along the drive-thru route, each being a different theme. Some suggestions: Super Heros, Pirates, Circus, Halloween land, etc. Does not have to be elaborate. We will have goodie bags at the end of the route. We are looking at Friday, October 30th from 5:30 to 7 PM. We considered Saturday the 31st, but we think that a lot of families will be holding stay at home event.
