Have we been conditioned to believe that homeownership is the highest mountain in adulthood? Is that really where the journey ends? My dear friends and fami...ly allow me to challenge that belief on Episode 1 of this new real estate related series. (I’m so excited, I’m hanging off the edge of my seat) At one point in time owning a home to live in was considered the epitome of adulthood but that was because many Americans knew they could fall back on social security benefits in their golden years. (Pair that also with a lower cost of living) Many people enjoyed their retirement knowing they would be taken care of by SSB. Reality today is a different one. Did you know the average person makes about $1,400/mo on social security benefits? I mean does that even cover your rent here in California? What will rents be like 20 years from today? And although you might be thinking, well I’m only in my 20’s or 30’s and I am no where near being old. Lol. We all know that our choices today have massive impact on our tomorrow. So what I am saying is this, set your self up for success today and invest in yourself and real estate while you still have the time and energy to do so! There are so many affordable cities here in California that even if you don’t want to live in those cities, you can very much invest in them instead.
