TRENSA #2, an original painting by renowned artist Pola López graces our March cover and represents a long-awaited resurrection for so many souls, projects and dreams that were blindsided and sidelined by COVID and an unfortunate época de encierro which is now stretching into its second year, even if we can begin to see beyond it. We are honored and humbled to once again feature Pola as our cover artist!!

Indeed a heartbreaking noticia... our deepest and sincerest condolences to the Salas family, their loved ones and close relatives as well as the millions of those, like us, who were touched, moved, empowered and uplifted by the songs and music of an American music legend. TIERRA and Rudy Salas will long reign supreme in our hearts and in our memories as the ground-breaking original Chicano super-group and meteoric Latin musical phenomenon that topped the national Billboard ch...arts with flair and a subtle nod to earlier crossover trailblazers like Cannibal & the Headhunters, Thee Midniters and Sunny Ozuna of Sunny & the Sunglows (later Sunliners). In the process, TIERRA and Rudy Salas opened the doors and paved the way for so many of those that followed, from Los Lobos, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine to La Mafia, Selena, Los Lonely Boys and, more recently, Chicano Batman. In case you missed the November newsprint edition with that badass cover by @emilia cruz in which this piece ran (COVID-19 shelter-in-place compliance and all), let me just say that Brooklyn & Boyle Associate Editor Alci Rengifo delivers yet again with this amazing story on the filmmakers behind the Netflix documentary on the late astrologer and iconic TV mega-celebrity Walter Mercado. Muchos muchos aplausos por esta contribución, Alcibiades! http://www.brooklynboyle.com//mucho-mucho-amor-legend-of-w
