We had a drive-in Culmination ceremony last night to celebrate our 8th graders and it included this fun video they did to share what a crazy year it has been! Many of our 8th graders have been here since kindergarten and 1st grade so it was bittersweet that it ended without the usual ceremony and events. It has been amazing to watch them grow into the young adults they are now and they will be missed by our students, families, and staff. Best wishes to them as they embark on their exciting next chapter - High School!

Don’t forget your gently used sneakers when you come through at your designated drop-off/pick up time for our Got Sneakers campaign. Every pair donated will be more revenue for PAC! Two boxes available. You can’t miss them!

#ThrowbackThursday to Teacher Appreciation week! It was so amazing to see all of our teachers and staff appreciated virtually by their classes and in-person with yard signs from PAC. The teachers gave their appreciation right back to the parents during the virtual bingo happy hour the following week! While we can’t change what we’ve lost this year, we can remember to appreciate what we have as a community

https://www.bridgescharter.org/apps/news/article/1233064 We have heard your concerns around the uncertainty you have about returning to school in the Fall. As we head into Memorial Day Weekend and round the corner to summer, we want to assure you that Bridges is committed to providing a flexible menu of options for our return to school in the Fall. We have discovered that every family has a different concern that they prioritize as the most important. Our Bridges "Return to School Task Force" comprised of 30+ site-based and home school teachers, parents, administration, board members, and staff is at the leading edge of the research and creation of programs that will best meet the needs of our families and that retain our core school values.

https://www.bridgescharter.org/apps/news/article/1213993 Our teachers and administration met to articulate our priorities around grading during Distance Learning, and based upon concerns for equity and the vast degree of various challenges families in our community are experiencing, we have decided to implement a PASS/FAIL system for grading for our final semester/trimester in K-5 and Middle School.

It is with heartbreak and regret to announce to you that Bridges Charter School will be following the recommendation of Governor Newsom, State Superintendent Thurmond, and the Ventura County Health Department in our decision to close our school site through the remainder of the school year. We know the impact of this decision will be felt deeply by all in our community, and with this in mind, we have delayed the decision as much as possible, but recognize that our community safety is the most important factor to consider. https://www.bridgescharter.org/apps/news/article/1202921
