Happy Wellness Wednesday, yogis! Today we come back to the practice of discipline. Some say it’s the most important branch of yoga to exist... that without it, positive effects and personal change are not truly achievable. For many of us, opening back up has been difficult. Hardships were brought on everyone during quarantine, and uncertainty is part of the norm right now. ... We can bring some order in to this chaotic social landscape by creating anchors of discipline in our own lives- every day. There is no quick fix or 3 step way to discipline- and that’s part of the point. It’s about consistency. Stepping on your mat when you don’t want to. Giving thanks when you don’t feel it. And stepping up for yourself and those around you during these difficult times. According to Patanjali, discipline is represented by Tapas- the Willingness to do the work, and the desire to learn. Check in with yourself on this Wednesday and make sure you’re cultivating discipline in your own practice- whatever this looks like for you. Kristiana loves offering tools to her students, rooted in her own life experiences, and varied educational backgrounds, with the hopes that they can use them on and off their mats.
