New Year, New Hours! #covidcutback . . I have decided to cutback my showroom hours. After looking back over the past year, 3pm-5pm is a ghost town in downtown Bakersfield. My neighboring businesses, @sequoiasandwich closes at 3:00pm, @tlowines doesn’t pickup until after 5pm & Bill Lee’s is lunch and dinner takeout (only) which means it too is quiet from the 3pm-5pm. .... . What IS busy from 3pm-5pm is my personal life. I need to pickup my kids from childcare, my 1st grader needs help with his homework, I want to prepare dinner and get the house tidied up before my husband comes home from his work at 5pm, my kids have either bath time or need to get dressed and ready to leave for gymnastics/football a few evenings per week! . . I have also decided to make Mondays by APPT ONLY. Mondays will be dedicated to being out in the field. This includes consultation appts, presentation appts & install days. From here on out, if you are working with me on a custom project, Mondays will be the day I plan to schedule you. By designating one day to these types of appts, it allows me to be fully present in the shop Tuesday-Friday from 10am-3pm! I will work on custom projects, pull online orders & greet/checkout walk-in customers! . . 2nd Saturday from 10am-3pm is the ONLY WEEKEND DAY we will be open per month! I’m a mom and a wife first, a businesswoman second. Weekends are time for family. My husband has his weekends off too! My kids are only little once, I don’t want to miss out on life with my family because I was working 24/7. Having this down time also allows me to personally recharge! . . Thanks to COVID, we officially have our online store completely dialed in and ready to shop 24/7. This is a great way to take advantage of the items offered in-store. Thank you @nanetteartanddesign for updating my window art during this COVID season! . . We are so thankful to have been able to stay afloat since COVID-19 hit our community in March 2020, it changed everything! Now we are thrilled to ALMOST officially reopen the shop to foot traffic again! We have missed seeing everyone walk in, missed our perfectly styled showroom and missed fun social events! .... . The main reason for the delay and shutdown of the showroom this month is because we are waiting on larger items (sofas & chairs) to arrive! Lead times for upholstered items have gone up due to Covid plus we keep getting inventory shipments for accessories that we feel like the shop is still in warehouse status! When I sold out my shop during Covid, it has taken me longer expected to get the showroom back in order. . . Anyway, can’t wait to the Grand Reopening on Monday, November 23rd!
