Hi Everyone, we hope you are all doing well! Our Jam week is next week, wow where did the month of May go? This is our 2nd month of virtual jam events! An email was sent out to all students, parents and faculty with all the details, so please check your email! Here is a summary of our jam events: - Jam Seminars: Lessons with different instruments, and instructors. They are an opportunity to connect with teachers differently than in a private lesson. Students have the opportu...nity to try all of the classes! Invite links for the classes will be sent out via email in a few days. Seminars: Class Name: Song Writing Basics Teacher: Rick Cittar Day: Tuesday 5/26, from 2:30-3:30pm In this class you will learn the art of song writing with the prolific song writer Rick Cittar. Students will discuss the elements of song construction and development. All instruments are welcome, and questions are encouraged! Class Name: Soloing On Little Wing Teacher: Tom Patitucci Day: Tuesday 5/26, from 7-8pm Teacher Tom will work through the iconic song Little Wing with four different levels of difficulty. Beginning to advanced students are welcome. Primary focus will be guitar, but all instruments are welcome. Class Name: The Blues Interactive Lab Teacher: Imam Hamdani Day: Thursday 5/28, from 2:30-3:30pm Grab your axe and be ready to jam through the changes on some blues progressions. A highly interactive class with fun for all. All instruments welcome, including voice. Beginner to advanced concepts. Class Name: Drum Integration Teacher: Dante McClinton and special guests Day: Thursday 5/28, from 7-8pm Learn how the drum interacts with other musicians in a professional setting. Dante will integrate advanced playing techniques that can be incorporated in any style of music. All instruments welcome! - Open Mic Night is on Friday 5/29, from 7-8:15pm. This will be done virtually through zoom, same as last month. Get ready to enter our virtual arena! More details to come. - Lastly, we are still accepting Jam Video Submissions, same as last month. Please send in a video of you playing a song you’ve been working on. Videos need to be sent to the BSM email by 5/25 at 9pm. Teachers will send feedback to you by 5/30 at 9pm.
