TISSUE ISSUE TIP OF THE DAY! STRETCHING! Stretching a tight muscle always needed? ... Tight muscles doesn’t mean they need to be stretched all the time. Hmmm, they don’t? When a muscle is tight, short and fascilated (overworking), yes. There are also, short, tight and inhibited (under working), which is protecting a weak muscle. Stretching it, you are taking away the only stability it has, and in turn, you are making the issue worse. Maybe certain muscles need to be strengthened? There is also, long, tight muscles that work the same way, whether they are over working or under working. Would you stretch elongated muscle even more? Makes you think.. To be sure, getting the right evaluation to be sure. Oh yes, did I mention to STAY HYDRATED!! Remember... TISSUE ISSUE TIP OF THE DAY! TEAMWORK When clients see me, sometimes they expect the issue to go away after one visit. Sometimes it can and sometimes it takes time, especially if they had this issue for awhile and the severity of it. It’s team work when we address these issues. The combination of my work, clients homework and what the client is doing outside of there homework., will make all the difference in the world. ... Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! TISSUE ISSUE TIP OF THE DAY! MEDIAL KNEE PAIN? Have medial (inside) knee pain? May want to look at your feet. Over-pronation (inside foot flattens) can cause the knee to collapse, which puts pressure on the inside of the knee. Most knee pain is caused from issues above or below the knee, not the knee itself. Getting the right evaluation, soft tissue work and corrective exercises, will go a long way. ... Oh yes, did I mention to STAY HYDRATED!! Remember...
