As a company, we recognize that it is our responsibility to be accountable in setting a powerful example for our employees, industry, and community as a whole. While Future Bars has made steps to become more diverse over the years, we’ve certainly had our blind spots and are moving forward with taking the steps to become part of the solution. We realize that systemic issues will not be resolved overnight, but we believe the action we take at this time will produce palpable ch...anges that are deeply needed. Silence is not an option and we’re working on an ongoing plan that will demonstrate our stand in support of anti-racism, allyship, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We aspire to foster a work environment that is entirely free of discrimination through, but not limited to: the review and adjustment of hiring and promotion practices based on DEI principles, the completion of mandatory companywide racial discrimination training, and the formation of a committee dedicated to education, training, and the eradication of racism. We trust that these strides will build a strong foundation for change and we are committed to continuously listening, understanding, and improving not only as a company, but as human beings. Black Lives Matter. We can say it, but more importantly, it is essential that we mean it. These words are direct in form, but truly developing an understanding of what they precisely mean to us has taken focus, self-reflection, and honesty with ourselves and others. Each day, we make conscious decisions to determine what we will prioritize as humans, and the notion of silent reflection without action, is no longer acceptable. Fundamentally speaking, it is not sufficient to merely not be racist, and we must do better. For too long, as a society, we’ve allowed for systemic discrimination and social injustices to persist. The time and opportunity for real, sustained change is now and it is critical that we rise to the occasion to support what is right. We believe that Black Lives Matter.
