We were proud to host the annual grant luncheon where the Borax Visitor Center Foundation distributed $25,000 in grants. These grants support the efforts of many local community organizations and local educational institutions. Thank you to all our community volunteers and educators for the wonderful work you do. http://www.borax.com/kern-county-nonprofit-organizations-a/

Our Borax Visitor Center has been open for 20 years this year. Another anniversary for us to celebrate. Today we had 150 elementary students from Barstow visit our center to learn all about our history, mining, processing and the value of minerals in our everyday lives. They had fun 'mining' their own samples to take home.
