Boogie Bowl Skate Park "Official" 13.11.2020

So it was Don Hamiltons' skateboard moves as seen in this 1975 film of Hamilton, produced by Sid Davis. This would influence an entire nation of school kids to skate like this, one of the first low to the ground, millions of school kids watching in 1975?. Davis, a shock value educational film producer distributed his films nationwide from the the 1950's, 60's and 70's to our public school system for three decades. Millions of kids would be watching in class. This is a great historical document. Hamilton was the 1975 Hang Ten Team Captain, comepeted with Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, and Ty Page on ABC's Wide World of Sports. :-) https://youtu.be/0UFvFA8d-ZA

In 1979 two of the most influencial skateboard photographers, William Sharp and Glen E Friedman (as you can see standing on deck upper left) stood by with their camera's by their side (in protest of Don Hamilton not being from Dogtown?) while he landed one of the biggest stunts in skateboard history? You can see them both standing there in awe as Don lands the trick in the heart of Dogtown. Anthony Nex took the photo sequence, as he tells it, -"both Sharp and Friedman were la...ughing at me" for jumping down into the channel as he captured one of the biggest stunts in skatebord history at the time. Don's stunt of "jumping the channel" at the Marina skatepark in 1979 during a contest promoted by Vans was swept under the rug and never published as they promoted the skateboarders of Dogtown rather than the Skateboarders of skateboarding? Interesting annalogy? One wonders why Sharp, Friedman and Vans did not approach Don for a feature in the mags and future sponsorship from Vans? The photograph sequence changes skateboard history in 2019 some 40 years later. Would this photo sequence qualify Don for Induction in the Skateboarding Hall of Fame? No big deal, nothing to see here. We Know our History! :-) www.dhshredder.com See more

Opening day Glendale Skatepark. Mr Paul Bushnell with the City of Glendale Mayor Bob Yousefian. We were there in support of the skatepark and skateboarding while insuring that the City had the record straight. The Boogie Bowl Skatepark was the Cities first skatepark back in 1977. We corrected the record. God Speed Paul. Thank you for the Ride. #cityofglendale #glendaleskatepark #verdugoskatepark
