Urgently need some time outdoors? How 'bout this? Saturdays SWAN TOURS, 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Yuba County north of Marysville in privately owned rice fields. Led by Cal. Dept. of Fish & Wildlife naturalists, this is an excursion into a prime Pacific Flyway overwintering grounds. Tours focus on the majestic and ancient tundra swan, but participants are sure to see an assortment of geese, ducks, shorebirds and raptors. S Tours have been modified to meet health and safety guidelines. For more information, go to wildlife.ca.gov/regions/2/swan-tours (and to sign up on Eventbrite), or email [email protected] to check for cancelation due to fire danger.
Traveling? Make sure to have a debit/credit card to pay for parking. Potentially virus-contaminated cash won't be accepted at Sac's airport. Sacramento International Airport Transitions to Cashier-Less Payment System for Parking SACRAMENTO, Calif. - To reduce person-to-person contact and provide a safer and more expedient travel experience for our customers, starting November 2, cash will not be accepted at parking lot cashier booths in all parking lots at Sacramento Interna...tional Airport (SMF). Our parking lot cashiers are being redeployed as roving Customer Service Representatives positioned throughout our parking lots to provide timelier customer support. Credit/Debit cards will be the only form of accepted payment at automated self-service kiosks located in each parking lot exit lane. Customers wanting to pay with cash will need to pay prior to returning to their car at specifically designated pay-on-foot self-service kiosks in the parking garage and outside Door 1 at Terminal B. For passengers coming from Terminal A, cash payment kiosks are located on level 1 in lobbies C and D and on level 3 in lobby C in the parking garage. For passengers coming from Terminal B, cash payment kiosks are located on level 5 in lobby C of the parking garage and outside Door 1 at the cross-walk to the Hourly Lot This new system is another way SMF is working to provide the safest and healthiest travel experience possible for our passengers, says Cindy Nichol, Sacramento County Director of Airports. Implementing a cashier-less payment system and reducing person to person contact helps protect both airport staff and passengers, and will provide even greater customer service thanks to the mobile Customer Service Representatives. Both Economy Lots will remain closed until the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon reopening, the East Economy Lot will be credit/debit card payment only. When entering the lot customers will need to insert the credit/debit card they are paying with into the machine (there will not be an option to take a ticket), when exiting passengers will use the same card. The West Economy Lot will remain a credit/debit card pay ahead lot, however, we do not anticipating opening this lot during the 2020 holiday season.

Former CalFire Chief: PG&E's failure to maintain/replace old power lines will cause more fires, kill more people. CalFire's investigation: Century-old lines and a hook that failed in a windy valley caused the deadly Camp Fire (Paradise). So much suffering. People, pets, and animals. 85 people dead. Too many animals to count. Baked or incinerated. Source: News 10 Investigative 3-part Series.
Walmart has reversed this edict for its U.S. stores. It gave criminals the wrong message. They get theirs illegally anyway.
