They Bit well today... Even the BIG ONES!! Today Greg Mueller and his Father In-law and Bass Pro, Loyd Baumann, Christian Macasen and his Father In-law Bernar...do Carrasco and Craig Luster and his 85 year old Uncle, a US Veteran, Bill Graves had a great time aboard the REEL MAGIC. We were done with our rock fish limits by 10:30 and spent the rest of the day hunting Lings!! We found em and put 10 beauties in the box to 27 lbs!! Craig Luster had the honors with that big girl. The fish bit shrimp flies and 8" swim baits on 6oz heads by Pit Bull Tackle from Outdoor Pro, and live bait on trap rigs. The rock fish were caught in 170' off of Podatties Reef and the Lings were caught in 70' of water just north of the Totem Pole.. What a day today in Bodega Bay for the Ergo family from Peteluma aboard the REEL MAGIC!! We started our day this morning at dock at 09:00. On our first stop i...t was "Fish On". Liam, his sister Adelie, thier Mom Sarah, thier Dad Mike and Grandpa Rick were hooked up on some nice blues and olives in 165' of water N. of Bodega Head on shrimp flies. After about a half a limit we made a move to the North to target some Black Rock fish. When we first got there the bite was slow... I knew it was REELY too slow when (3 year old) Liam Started to cry and yell out.... "I am not getting any bites"!! That's when I knew that I'd better flip the "REEL MAGIC" switch... That is exactly what I did, and the next thing you know, Liam was yelling "Fish On" again. The fish bit shrimp flies and 2 oz. Vertical jigs by Pit Bull Tackle from Outdoor Pro. Well folks that’s a wrap for our spring/summer schedule. We are now switching to our fall schedule, Monday’s-Thursday’s we will be closed Friday's-Sunday's we w...ill be open from 6am-9am. Our goal is to be open until 11/22/20 with our fall schedule, but things are always subject to change. We will post every Wednesday confirming we will have bait for the up coming weekend. One of our regulars Jim Lieb from Sacramento, Father and son duo Rusty and C...olton Folena from Amador, IGFA record holder and Seeker Pro, "Baja Bev" from Santa Cruz, and ol pals Greg Anderson and Mike Bagless from Woodland REELY tore them up today!! Quality rock fish limits for clients and crew to 5 lbs and 10 beautiful Lings to 14 lbs. "in the box"!! Several Lings were lost on the way in, but we were very happy with the one who accompanied us on you way home.. The rock fish took shrimp flies and Outdoor Pro's Flat fall vertical jigs in 200' of water. The Lings bit live bait in 60' of water on trap rigs. Today we fished rock piles North of the Totem Pole in clear water!! They were chomping for sure. Crab Season is around the corner and we only have a couple of open days on our Calendar for November. Bodega Bay Fishing Report Lingcod and Rockfish has been extremely good! The New Sea Angler reports:... Friday, 13 anglers catching 16 Lingcod to 19 pounds and full limits of rockfish. Saturday 24 anglers caught 33 Lingcod to 18 pounds and full limits of Rockfish. The New Sea Angler will start Crab/Rockfish combos soon so book your trips now!

The seas were calm, the light wind was cold but the bite was RED HOT today in Beautiful Bodega Bay!! One of our regulars Rena Crabtree from Santa Rosa, Mike Cun...eo, and Kevin Owen from Sacramento, Mike McDermott from Napa and Brad Revelli from Walnut Creek ripped a few lips today and filled their Sacs with Nice grade rockfish and some quality ling cod! The bite was so good... I even got in on the action!! ;) The rock fish took shrimp flies and Outdoor Pro's Flat fall vertical jigs in 200' of water. The Lings bit live bait in 100' of water on trap rigs and Pit Bull Tackles 8" swim baits with 6 Oz lead heads. Today we fished the penicles off of Ocean Cove in clear water!! By the way, Brad's Vermillion tipped the digital scale at 7.4 lbs.. Crab Season is around the corner and we only have a couple of open days on our Calendar for November.
