Dear Friends of Bob’s Well Bread, 2020 started out with such promise! Business was briskwe had some great times in January and February and thought we were off to a record year! We had a great Valentine’s Day dinner that was sold out and we had such a good time with friends and patrons who enjoyed our candle-lit dinner with great food and wine (and bread and dessert!). But then, we all know what happened right after that. We watch the news daily and are devastated by the lo...ss of life; the loss of businesses; the loss of hope-- and our hearts go out to those who have lost so much. We survived this year through sheer force of will. It was a rough time by all, but we pivoted and adapted and managed (with the help of PPP) to keep things going and our team intact throughout the rough patch. We picked up deliveries to all of Santa Barbara County (and Los Angeles) and that really helped us get over the hump. As we got into late spring and summer, things seemed to be okay with people enjoying our Los Alamos patio and garden for outdoor dining and we continued with our plans to open in Ballard. As we got into the fall and our Ballard location opened, we were so pleased to bring our offerings to our local SYV community and they in turn loved having us there. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the reception we received during our opening. Unfortunately, it was short-lived and as the fall of 2020 continued, we lost indoor, then outdoor dining, just before the busiest time of the year for the holidays. Once again, our friends and neighbors lifted us up and came out to support us with to-go foods, panettone, holiday breads and gift cards! Thank you so much for the support. It means more than you can imagine. As we look forward to 2021, we do so with optimism. Vaccines are coming our way and we hope that as the year progresses, we can hang in there to see the bright light at the end of this dark tunnel. So, Happy New Year.2021 has to be an improvement and we thank you and love the support of all of you.
