Conscious Breathing for Body and Mind *Contact me directly for Zoom links Breathwork has been an ebbing and flowing part of my practice for 30 years and it seem...s like there's never been a better time to share and help others cultivate more physical health, particularly in the lungs and heart, as well as mental health. 45 minute classes remain free, donations always welcome but please just join and share with anyone you think would appreciate. Private sessions are 40/hr and allow us to explore thoughts, emotions, challenges etc...that may come up in the session. Breathing can have a lot attached to it, trauma, control, joy, pleasure, it can be a real mixed bag. Please reach out if you have any questions about anything. The event that transpired that let me know I must offer this was my yoga teacher and dear friend getting sick with the virus we're all talking about...Over the course of the 2 weeks that she experienced a cavalcade of extreme symptoms including very belabored breathing it was the ongoing tuning into and directing of her breath that she feels kept her "calm and out of the hospital". She said as long as she felt "safe and in control" of her breathing she would "ride it out at home" and she was able to do just that. *Of course I'm not making any claims or suggesting that you deny other support if you find yourself needing it. I'm simply offering something that, if nothing else, could help bring calm to the mind and strength to the lungs as we move through this most challenging situation we all find ourselves in. Each week during our meeting we hear 10-minute presentations by two of our chapter's members, providing a deeper dive into who they are and what they do. This week, acupuncturist and herbalist Ana Hortillosa demonstrated needling technique on the arm and leg of one of our fellow members. He reported that it was more uncomfortable being closely watched by dozens of eyeballs than by being pierced by Ana's expertly placed and inserted needles.

Members and visitors enjoyed a special treat at this week’s meeting. Instead of a PowerPoint presentation, they heard music from professional guitarist Lloyd Gregory. Speaking of Lloyd, don’t miss him with his trio of legends tonight (Friday 1/17) at the Back Room in Berkeley. Show starts at 8 PM.

Master deck builder Christopher Stoehr brought some of his toys er, tools of the trade, to his featured member presentation this week.
