Today, December 3, 2020, we celebrate International Day of People with Disabilities (IDPWD). This year’s theme, Not all Disabilities are Visible, seeks to spread awareness and understanding of disabilities that may not be immediately apparent to others. According to the WHO World Report on Disability, 15 percent of the world’s population lives with a disability. International Day of People with Disabilities serves as a reminder and time of reflection for us all to keep into perspective our part in breaking down barriers and eliminating the stigma associated with having a disability in an effort to create a more inclusive world. Please join BMAC and ASI for a movie screening of I AM GRETA which focuses on Greta Thunberg’s disability as a superpower in her fight to stop climate change. The screening will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd at 4:30 PM with a post-screening discussion to follow at 6:15 PM. Priority Registration for Spring 2021 begins November 2, 2020. Check your MyCSULB account to see your registration appointment date/time details. Please note that you must be a continuing student enrolled during the Fall 2020 semester in order to receive a priority registration date for Spring 2021. Juneteenth, often regarded as African American Independence Day, is a widely celebrated American holiday. It commemorates June 19, 1865, the day union soldiers arrived to Galveston, Texas to announce that the Civil War had ended and slaves in the United States were now free. As we are witnessing and experiencing a great deal of civil unrest in our nation in 2020, BMAC holds firmly to the belief that Black Lives Matter.
