Today we remember NYPD Officer Wenjian Liu and Officer Rafael Ramos. They were ambushed while sitting in their patrol cars. The same attempts have occurred in Los Angeles and in many jurisdictions in between. On probation I was always told that the police car is a moving target. It was instilled in my young cop mind to un-ass the vehicle if we were taking rounds. ... Countless ambushes on law enforcement have occurred across since I was given that advice.
