Blue Heron Rv Klamath Ranch Resort 28.11.2020

The Burney’s (Jim & Kathy) have survived the very mild winter here on the Klamath River. The trees are budding and the daffodils are starting to bloom. Trout and Steelhead fishing has been good. We are looking forward to the Salmon fly hatch in about the first week of June. In our pet friendly park, Easter and Cowboy (our paint horses) are looking for the hand-outs from their new found friends, like some of you. Come and enjoy our new lower rates that are currently in eff...ect. Fuel prices are down too so we are expecting an increase in recreational travelers. Make your reservations early so we can have a great year together. See our website: www.klamathranchresort.com. Pick a spot and call or email for a reservation. We are here to serve you. Bring a friend! Jim Burney See more

Please see this chronological history of water in the Klamath River. Please note that even before the dams were built the logging town of Klamatron and their logging pens blocked the salmon's spawning ground. Note also the salmon population was greater during closure of the river for gill-net fishing by the Yurok Tribe. http://www.watereducation.org//klamath-river-basin-chronol

The Klamath Ranch Resort is located right on the Klamath River in Northern Ca. The Department of Interior has since 2004 been investigating the likelihood of removing 4 dams on the Klamath River, three of which are Hydroelectric Dams. The Bureau of Reclamation has filed their final environmental impact statement for removal of the dams in 2020. They have been unable to get congressional approval which is a requirement of dam removal. while we have a number of concerned citize...ns, they have continued to find the science for dam removal rather than in my opinion a solution to satisfy the needs of the people of Siskiyou County which has 3 of these dams within it. if you have any interest in what our department of interior is doing, please look at their website www.Klamathrestoration.gov below is the link of how they will remove the iron gate dam, and in the process put us in the flood plane, and at least 3 feet of sediment in our beautiful park.
