Such mixed emotions for me today. We should be gathered together under my big beautiful tent, drinks in hand toasting those who’ve overcome their cancer diagnoses and walk our stage in celebration. I miss it, I miss the energy of our 600 attendees laughing their way through donations, I miss the tears invoked by our survivors and their heartfelt stories they bravely share. I miss that I didn’t have an opportunity to hide Billy’s gold shoes among my decor ensuring his spirit t...oo was their with us. I know this virtual event won’t be the same, but it’s a way to support those patients and families who have been hit the hardest throughout this pandemic. Imagine your life saving treatments postponed, or having to sit through hours of chemo without a loved one for support. Imagine having a terminal cancer diagnoses and fearing Covid could take your life first. We’re all struggling and finding ways to make it through all that is 2020, if you are compelled or in a position to donate to our cancer services program- know it is appreciated, and making an incredible impact in our community.
