DO YOU LIKE TAKING SELFIES? Consider Retinal Selfies (Retinal Photography); these photos can detect a number of health issues, are painless, and only take a few minutes! We offer and recommend this screening tool for all new patients because it helps detect eye disease early, documents the optic nerves and blood vessels and is the best way to monitor eye health over time. Retinal photography is equivalent to having x-rays of your teeth to get an inside view of any abnormal...ities. Interestingly, it is the only way (besides surgery) to see nerves and blood vessels at work. The photos can also detect other health issues which may be unknown to the patient. Recently, Dr. Bloch detected plaque in a patient’s retinal eye photo, which is a risk factor for stroke. Wouldn’t you like to see the inside of your eye?
