We are extremely sad to announce that one of our employees passed away unexpectedly last week. Thank you Dylan for all of your hard work over the years. Please keep Dylan’s friends, family and coworkers in your thoughts. Dylan LOVED the dunes. Fortunately he was able to join us for one last ride before the dunes closed indefinitely back in March. We will now remain closed at least through the end of November.

The Oceano Dunes SVRA will start reopening on October 30th, 2020 in phases. Our company and other rental companies will be the last ones to reopen in Phase 3. There is no definite date for Phase 3 at this point, but we believe it will be towards the end of November. Stay safe, be careful and we hope to see our customers soon!

At least this is a start to reopening. Concessions will be the last ones phased back in. Stay safe and hopefully soon, we will be up and running again!

A big shoutout to all who came out for the Off Roaders United Freedom Flag Rally in Oceano, to protest Oceano Dunes SVRA still being closed. It was an great day...! Word on the streets is that State Parks has submitted a reopening plan to the Governor, and we are now awaiting his approval. Please everyone take a minute to call the offices of Governor Newsom, State Parks Director Quintero, Secretary of Natural Resources Crowfoot and State Parks OHV Division, to politely ask them to FULLY reopen ODSVRA to camping and OHV recreation immediately. If you get a voicemail, please leave a message telling them who you are and where you are from. Tell them that our families, our businesses and our community are suffering, and tell them what the reopening of ODSVRA means to you. Please be polite, thank you. STILL waiting for official reopen info. Most recent update is not before 10/18. IF dunes reopen later this month, then @bjsatvrentals will open on 11/1. If not, then we will refund or reschedule bookings during continued closure.the CA state parks dept. comes through for us.

Six months ago at the end of March, we received a phone call on a Friday night that the beach was shutting down that night. Fast forward to today and we are still waiting on an official reopen date. We hope everyone has remained safe and sane during this time. We hope to have some kind of good news soon. We are sorry to say that is all we know at this point and as soon as we know any more information as to reopening, we will gladly pass it along.

Today marks the fourth month that we have been shut down. First due to covid, and then due to birds nesting in the riding areas. We miss all of our employees, customers and friends. We hope better news comes our way in October. Stay safe, mask up and make the most of this crazy world that we are living in.

UPDATE: The California Coastal Commission & California State Parks Department have decided to keep the Oceano Dunes SVRA CLOSED to all camping and all vehicles, including OHVs, through the nesting season of a threatened bird species that resides in the protected areas of the dunes but has migrated more into the riding area during the COVID-19 beach closure (or so we are told). Therefore, @bjsatvrentals & concessionaires have been ordered to remain CLOSED at least through October 1, 2020. We still do not have a reopening date but we have completed a mandatory reopening plan by making significant adjustments to our business to comply with COVID-19 county and state rules in anticipation of being able to resume business. REPOST: @friendsofoceanodunes . . . In response to the cease and desist order from the @coastalcommission that @castateparks without hesitation signed and agreed to. No OHV = No OHV dollars. With the 6 month closure of the ODSVRA we are demanding the end of OHV funds being used to support the dust mitigation efforts and the species management programs at the dunes. @ Oceano Dunes SVRA

Happy #4thofjuly from @bjsatvrentals . We hope everyone is safe and healthy. We were really hoping to be able to provide safe recreational activities for you and your friends and families this weekend but unfortunately we are still required to remain closed at this time.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads! . (We still do not know when we can reopen).

Happy 29th birthday to our youngest son! Riding since he was five years old. Time flies.
