Bixby Knolls Towers

Updated August 2020: We are currently creating plans to thoughtfully and carefully begin the process of getting to a post COVID-19 normal. This process is anything but easy. While some states may be reopening businesses, schools, and recreational opportunities based upon geography, community spread, and trends, multi-level retirement communities like ours (with Independent Living, Assisted Living (licensed) and Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation), will have a different reope...ning schedule because we care for older adults who are most vulnerable to COVID-19. Throughout this process we will continue to follow and maintain compliance with all CDC guidelines as well as mandates for all state and local departments, including the Long Beach Health Department, while balancing resident social engagement with quality of life. The health, well-being of our residents and staff remain our top priority. Employees are screened (temperature taken) twice a day, all visitors and personal caregivers are screened upon entering the community and residents are screened upon returning from appointments outside of the community. Staff continuously sanitize common areas and residents are encourage to use the hand sanitizer that is provided at the community. Bixby Knolls Residential Living Residents: All meals continue to be served to the residents in their apartments. Activities are limited to small groups and participants are required to wear masks and practice social distancing. Bixby Knolls Assisted Living Residents: All meals continue to be served in the residents’ apartments. Family visits are encouraged in the outdoor patio area. Our activities staff have small group activities (no more than 10 residents at a time) and mask wearing and social distancing is practiced. Bixby Knolls Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Residents: Our activities staff continue to coordinate small group and one on one activities with our residents.
