True story: a local alcoholic was littering their beer can every night in front of my driveway. Clearly hiding their drinking problem from who they live with. E...very morning I picked it up and recycled it. We called him the beer bandit because i couldn’t catch him on the ring video. A few weeks go by and every day it’s the same thing. Until one day I stopped picking it up. So the next day there were two cans. The third day the street was clean. There have been no cans since. Moral: STOP ENABLING PEOPLE. Break your chains of codependency. You can not fix anyone but yourself. Leave the trash and let the person clean up their own mess. That’s the best way to help anyone. Focus on being the best you.
