Study Tip #5-- Create a study group: Forming study groups is how I like to have a good time while studying! To avoid too many distractions, I typically like to study with one more person or with a maximum of two. Any more, and I just end up being less productive. During these sessions, I like reviewing a single lecture with my group and then go back and forth trying to teach the information to each other. MEMORY CONSOLIDATION AND A FUN TIME WITH FRIENDS !!!!!!!!! -Reanna To talk more with Reanna about study tips or about classes, email her at [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

Study Tip #4-- Take Breaks When Needed: Studying for long periods of time can be mentally and physically draining. So make sure to give yourself breaks, have snakes, drink water, and be well rested!!! Having breaks in between studying can give you an energy boost that you will need to continue grinding. And when you're done with studying, make sure to practice self-care to rest your mind and body (preferably with some good ice cream ). -Hailey For more advice from Hailey, email her at [email protected] to set up an appointmet.

Study Tip #3-- Create a Study "Cheat Sheet" Creating a study cheat sheet is a great way to review material before exams, and also to hold onto as a review sheet! I like to start by writing small summaries of each lecture, chapter, or major topic. Including diagrams, pictures, and key equations into this cheat sheet makes it super easy for me to refer back to material while I study or do practice problems. I find that creating these cheat sheets forces me to review material, and to recognize topics that I need to study a bit more in depth. -Gloria If you'd like to set up an appointment with Gloria to talk more about study tips or class scheduling, feel free to send an email at [email protected]!

Study tip #2-- Create a productive Workspace: Having a designated space to do work can minimize distractions and get you in the zone to study. I try to avoid studying in bed and instead use a desk or table to put myself in the right mindset to be productive! If you share a workspace with others, put in headphones with some background noise to block distractions. Once you’re settled put away your social media and get crackin! -Angeni If you'd like to create an appointment with Angeni to talk more about study tips, or classes in general, email her at [email protected] to set up a time!

Hello Anteaters! This week, your PAAs will be sharing some of their tips they use while studying. Hope you all find these helpful! Study Tip #1-- Use a Whiteboard: When studying, I find it easier to visualize pathways and components of a scheme by utilizing a whiteboard. The material in most biology courses can be dense and organizing the key molecules in a visual workflow can help breakdown some of the complexity. I suggest writing down important concepts in your notebook ...initially for reference and then continue reinforcing the content by using your whiteboard. -Sneha For more tips or advice for studying or academics, email [email protected] to set up an appointment.
