Hi All! We appreciate everyone who has been coming out to our SSF and San Carlos locations to support and play badminton. Sadly, San Mateo County is now on the watch list for the 3rd day, so starting tomorrow, August 1, we will NOT be able to offer court reservations until further notice. Tonight is the last night, so come on out to satisfy your badminton itch! We thank everyone who has been supporting us and we hope to be able to reopen again soon.

Hi Everyone! It's been a while. We were initially very excited when Santa Clara County announced that gyms will be allowed to reopen on 7/13. But after doing our homework and checking in with the county officials THREE separate times, we learned that badminton is considered a cardio/aerobic type activity, which is still NOT allowed indoors (even if everyone wears a mask). So unfortunately, our Santa Clara County facilities will not be allowed to offer court reservations a...t this time. We will continue to monitor the situation every day (as we have been for the last 4 months) and hope for the best! In the meantime, everyone can still visit our San Mateo locations (SSF and San Carlos) to play our beloved sport. (Note court reservation required.) On one slight positive note, I guess it is great that the general public finally recognizes badminton as a cardio activity and not just your leisure, "hit the birdie around in the backyard while holding a drink" type sport.

To all our badminton players and fanatics! We are excited to let everyone know that we will be reopening Bintang SSF and Bintang San Carlos on Saturday, June 20, for limited court reservations. Everyone's health and safety remains our top priority, and we have been working hard the last few weeks to prepare our facility and put together protocols/procedures for everyone to follow. Tonight we are holding staff training. Please refer to our website for details on our new o...pen gym protocols and on how to reserve a court at either of these locations. We thank everyone for the outpouring of support during these tough times. We hope that together, we will get through this and eventually be able to return back to our previous way of open gym. Take care, be well, and see you all on the courts soon! P.S. Our other locations will remain closed for court reservations at this time. They will open up once Santa Clara County and/or Alameda County allow for it. We will try to keep everyone posted. www.bintangbadminton.org

We hope everyone is doing well in these trying times. :( We know that being able to play badminton to relieve some stress would be so nice right now. But unfortunately, the updated orders still do not allow our facilities to be open for open gym yet. And when we are able to open, we will likely have to run at a reduced capacity in order to ensure that all safety protocols and social distancing can be enforced. We will definitely post here once we have a better idea of when we might be able to re-open. In the meantime, please stay safe and take care.

We hope everyone is doing well. I know we are all itching to play badminton (indoors)! A list of allowed *outdoor* activities was released a few days ago which said badminton (singles) is ok, but again that is for outdoors only. And we all know how well the birdie flies in the wind. :) We are monitoring updates from the local/state government on a daily basis and will definitely announce here once we are able to re-open. We hope that will be soon. Please take care and stay safe!

Hi all ~ hope everyone is staying healthy and hanging in there! Per the guidelines updated yesterday by the Bay Area counties, all Bintang Badminton facilities will continue to remain CLOSED until 5/3/2020, and possibly longer. We are sad to have to be closed during this period. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and finding ways to satisfy their badminton cravings (binge-watching professional badminton matches, hitting the birdie against the wall, attempting to play in the backyard, or doing footwork in the garage?!?!). Please take care and we hope to see you all again soon!
