Life is good on a bike! Just look at the joy that a bicycle ride brought us! I have often said that if I am feeling depressed, a bike ride always brings a smile... to my face. I see a bike ride as a form of medicine. It is exercise. It is fresh air. It is exploration. It is liberation. The forward momentum is the antidote to feeling stuck and stagnant. One of my top recommendations for achieving freedom, both as individuals and as communities, is to transition away from fossil fuel powered (and electric) vehicles and transition into human power when possible. Pedal power for the people! The bicycle is resistance to war on humanity and war against the Earth. This week I had the great joy of going for a ride through Minneapolis with my best friend Paul and one of my new best friends and his partner, Kelsey. It was one of the best bike rides of my life. This summer I have re-established my love for biking and have gotten into a good habit of riding. This week in Minneapolis I did 20-30 mile days around the city, getting exercise and breathing fresh air while taking care of business! I recommend getting a bike rack and a set of panniers to aid in reducing dependency on fossil fuels and living in alignment with Earth. Most errands are pretty easy to manage with these simple tools on a bicycle. Questions on achieving independence and riding a bike? Ask and I'll answer some! Love, Rob
Solar e-bike stations are the future we need! A Colorado pilot program run by We-Cycle and SkyHook Solar is helping to position bike share as an even more potent tool in the fight against climate change. https://bit.ly/3ahHy0x

Daring to imagine the kind of world we want to live in.
Episode 59: Housing for People, Not Cars What would it be like to walk out of your home and see other people instead of cars? Can you imagine opening your door ...and letting your kids run around outside independently? Residents of Cully Green a 23-home community in Portland, Oregon developed specifically to encourage a car-free or car-light way of life don’t have to imagine it. They’re living a life more akin to the idealized version of the suburbs of the past than the reality often found across the country today. Why are developments like this so unusual? Because in most of America it’s illegal to build thanks to single-family zoning. So is Cully Green the kind of thing that could only work in Portland because, you know Portland? Or is this a model for building better cities and better communities all across the country? https://thewaroncars.org//episode-59-housing-for-people-n/ See more
Here at PeopleForBikes, we’re all about celebrating small wins that improve bike connectivity and safety for every rider. By April 2020, more than 200 U.S. cit...ies temporarily changed the layout of their streets eliminating through traffic, slowing cars and opening roadways for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors. With careful planning and smart construction, cities relied on support from residents to expand access to completely connected, comfortable mobility networks. This allowed people on bikes or on foot to travel safely through their communities. To celebrate, we gathered the best new bikeways of 2020. #KeepRiding with a Ride Spot route from each of the top cities. https://www.peopleforbikes.org//americas-best-new-bikeways
The bicycle gives back. In the season of giving, it’s important to remember that not everyone has access to healthy food something many of us take for granted.... Boulder Food Rescue’s mission? Healthy food for everyone. Armed with bikes, trailers and boxes, this collective works to redistribute food that may have been thrown out by grocery stores to communities and people in need. Follow this #KeepRiding story through downtown Boulder, it might just inspire you to view your fourth day of holiday leftovers a little differently. What are you grateful for? https://ridespot.org/rides/248187
