Freshened up the back bedroom at @bigbeartreehouse with some new linen bedding

Look at this KITCHEN!! When I’m making updates at @bigbeartreehouse I always try to stay true to the mid-century heart and soul that this place has while still feeling fresh and modern. With that said, I couldn’t be happier with how this kitchen update turned out!!! New quartz countertops that hark back to vintage terrazzo. A simple, green backsplash tile that still feels fresh and modern with its vertical stacked layout and dark charcoal grout. And then I just love the black... composite sink and matte black faucet (oh, and dont forget black switches/outlets with USB charging!). After seeing how good the countertops looked, I knew I needed a prettier microwave. So I went with a small one that is retro-styled in a creamy off-white color that looks great against the new backsplash. This update happened on an *absolutely insane* timeline to have it all ready for something super special that happened this week. So many new updates at @bigbeartreehouse that I’m very excited to share that I haven’t even had time to take proper photos of. A huge shoutout to @campgolddust for helping make all of this become a reality! I’ve been a little quiet on here as I have been BUSY getting things in order for what is an exciting couple of weeks here at @bigbeartreehouse. In just a couple days the kitchen will have a nice little facelift that I couldn’t be more excited about! I’m also bringing up some furniture and lighting and small updates all around the house that will really freshen everything up. Then I’ll be getting to show all that off through something *very* exciting that’s happening next week. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great summer, y’all

When I found this cabin 5 years ago I never could’ve imagined what it would bring me in the years to come. It started out with my desire to own a home but I wasn’t able to afford one in the city I have to live for my job. Once I found the cabin I hoped to help pay for the mortgage by renting it out a bit... All while having a place away from it all A win win. Sharing my home and its progress here on @instagram has connected me with so many other hosts, some of which have become great friends. Having this community for support and advice has been so helpful, too. Even my job as an Art Director in advertising came to me with the help of a connection of an @airbnb guest. 5 years into hosting and I can’t imagine what my life would be like without it. #airbnbpartner

One of the most rewarding parts of being an @airbnb host is that you can provide guests with a space to create amazing memories that they’ll have for a lifetime. Recently, I was hosting a couple coming for their honeymoon straight from their wedding ceremony. The newlywed’s family reached out to me beforehand and we worked together with an amazing local vendor @bigbearpicnicco to create an incredible surprise that would be waiting for them upon their arrival. Celebratory wine and champagne, charcuterie, and a series of special notes sent by the family greeted them when they checked-in. Not only did it look amazing, it felt incredible to be able to help facilitate such a lovely experience for my guests to make their special day extra special. #airbnbpartner

When the lighting is so good all you need is your iPhone camera...

It’s been a rollercoaster of a few weeks for me. Some good, some bad, some stressful! The worst of that was my dad testing positive for COVID, but fortunately he has now made a full recovery and is already itching to get back to work. I’m just ready to relax and cozy up in front of the fireplace this weekend because I need to reset after all of that. Valentine’s Day weekend is a big weekend for me - It’s always been one that’s marked new beginnings, closing one chapter and op...ening up the next... And even bigger this year is that it will mark FIVE YEARS since I closed on @bigbeartreehouse. And while time has just flown by I also can’t remember what my life was like without the cabin and sharing it with all of you. I’ve been going through old photos and I think I need to take you all on trip down memory lane... So stay tuned for some throwback gold this weekend :) See more

So it snowed a little... This photo is by @littleblackcabin after the first snow last week before we got hit with another foot! One of my favorite parts of snow in Big Bear is when the trees are freshly covered and they look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

2021 Happy New Year everyone! What a rollercoaster of a year it was. Some of the lowest lows with some real good and necessary thrown in there. Hope we’re all coming into 2021 with some new and fresh perspectives and not taking anything for granted. I know I’ve learned a lot about life and myself this past year and in 2021 I can’t wait to see us all out there VIBING & THRIVING! : @dirtandglass
