With the weekend arriving, a reminder that National Forests in California remain closed at this time. Here on the San Bernardino National Forest, we continue to... receive numerous calls asking about local roads (pictured, Bear Springs Rd. in Twin Peaks) and state highways that travel through Forest Service land. These are open. This closure affects Forest Service roads, trails and land and is re-evaluated daily. With the historic number of large fires and extreme fire behavior across California, we need to protect the public and firefighters. Additionally, it should be noted that with the #ElDoradoFire near Big Bear, local officials have requested that visitors postpone their trips until the threat has passed. We would like to thank our partners and the public for their cooperation and understanding of this monumental fire threat! It is critical that all Californians and national forest visitors follow these important closures for their own safety and the safety of our firefighters.

The start of the Oktoberfest has been rescheduled to start on September 18. The Adventure Van Expo has been tentatively planning for Ocober 17-18.
