Meet The Team! The vision behind Bidwell Pharmacy & Wellness Center is the owner, Okwudili Ahiligwo (aka Barnaby). Barnaby grew up in Nigeria and attended Pharmacy School there where he graduated in 1986. Barnaby loves travel and exploration, so while working as a Pharmacist, took many trips and vacations across Africa and Europe. ... He decided to emigrate to the US and arrived in Oakland, CA in 1991 where he worked for Thrifty (now Rite-Aid) before moving to Chico, Ca. It was during this time that Barnaby recognized there is a better model for pharmacies than the ‘big box companies. He was able to realize his dream of providing community based dispensing by establishing Bidwell Pharmacy in 2007. Barnaby has invested much of the last 20 of his 30 years as a Pharmacist studying the effects of pharmaceuticals on patients and evaluating potential alternatives. Now, with the advent of a new generation of non-drug based medicines, known collectively as Functional Medicine, he is uniquely positioned to present these alternatives to patients.
