The charming Giovanni Marazzi, most recently from The Ago Restaurant Group, oversees the house operations with élan as General Manager of both BG and Nerano. The journey begins with a simple neon sign COCKTAILS visible from South Santa Monica Boulevard, and pointing to the secret entry beyond the doors of sister restaurant, Nerano. Enter the red-illuminated gate at the end of the pathway and follow the black-carpeted walkway to the canopied stairway leading to the upstairs door. Once upstairs, ring the doorbell to be welcomed to this Golden Age-style Hollywood style dining room, reminiscent of a private club from yesteryear. One receives an immediate and familiar welcome by the BG Maitre d’ while being escorted to their favorite table in this tony room. BG’s second story space above Nerano overlooks Santa Monica Boulevard and boasts an intimate, alluring interior by Tim Clarke Design, enveloping one with a warm color palette of saddle and vintage Ferrari red, creating a dramatic and theatrical room. Details feature a spacious zinc bar, red brick walls, rich walnut flooring, custom lighting, lush furnishings and dramatic black linens, all complemented by selected artworks by notable contemporary artists curated by the Marc Selwyn Gallery. The background music of smooth, soulful sounds from the seventies adds to the ambiance. BG is open for dinner Thursday Saturday from 6:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. The bar serves from Thursday Sunday from 6:00 p.m. 1:30 a.m. For those seeking a refined private experience, the BG offers customized Private Dining Events by appointment.
