Community Partner shout out! The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation are proud partners of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County! They are a modern government providing public services to their members, employees and neighbors. The Sycuan Tribal Government operates one of the region's premier Indian gaming and resort facilities, the Sycuan Casino and Resort. The Sycuan Tribe demonstrates its strong commitment to the San Diego region through the support of hundreds of civic and charitable organizations. The Tribe, through the Sycuan Tribal Development Corporation (STDC), also seeks to reinvest back into the San Diego community with a progressive business development effort. Combined, these enterprises now employ nearly 4,000 San Diegans. A big ‘thank you’ to our long-time friends, the Sycuan Tribal Government!

Last week, our amazing friends at the El Cajon Rotary presented our CEO Forrest Higgins with a $10,000 check! This money will support East County families with school bus transportation from their child's school to the Club and help hire and train more recreation aides to accommodate members with distance-learning. THANK YOU ROTARY!
Power out? Wish you knew in advance? There's an app for that! San Diego Gas & Electric created an app to help keep the community safe during a wildfire or potentially dangerous weather conditions. "Public Safety Power Shutoffs" (PSPS) are purposeful power shutoffs that can last until fire risk conditions longer pose a threat. Download the new SDG&E app, Alerts by SDG&E, to stay informed about PSPS events in your area, at www.sdge.com/pspsapp. #sdge #energytips4u

Don't forget! Tomorrow is the last day to donate art supplies at the El Cajon and Santee Michaels Stores! All donated supplies go to the Clubs! Thank you!
Our longtime friends and community partners of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation have donated $10,000 to the Club's "Fund for Families in Need", scholarship program! Sycuan is providing financial assistance to local Club families that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and cannot afford the $50 membership fee and/or the monthly rate for Fall Camp (8am-6pm, distance learning support). Thank you Sycuan Tribe and Sycuan Casino Resort for always looking out for the kids!
BGCEC Friends East County Michaels Stores locations are collecting supplies for the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County! From now until August 29th, visit the Michaels Stores in Santee or El Cajon and purchase an item to be donated at the register. Thanks for supporting our kids!
