Ballet Folklorico de CSUF celebrates and recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day Studying, learning and recognizing Indigenous Folx goes past one day, and it is something everyone can continue to work on on. Within the various regions of Folklorico, we see the influence of grupos Indigenas within the wardrobe, music, and dance. This is despite the heavy presence of European influences. The recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day was one of many accomplishments for our Indigeno...us Communities but the work is far from over. We must continue to push the boundaries and fight for the rights the Indigenous communities deserve and have been stripped of for so long. The image featured here is from an article that discusses the positive impacts several indigenous groups all over the world have on the environment and how Scientist are beginning to understand that their relationship with nature can result in innovative efforts to conserve our environments.
