I am proud to be an organizer of and a participant in this event. More than that, I am humbled to be included with so many voices from the Black community and the Jewish community. The legacy of Black-Jewish collaboration on civil rights is long and we need to capitalize on our relationship at this crucial time in America’s journey so that we re-shape our ideas about safety and policing. African Americans are disproportionately the victims of police misconduct and violence. Join me as we not merely discuss but plan how we will engage together to improve policy and oversight.

It was such an honor to be a part of the Shofar Wave that the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and IKAR put together. May the sound of the shofar mark the beginning of a sweet, healthy and peaceful year for us all and may we be able to celebrate together in person soon!
