Hi friends! Just a recap- we studied the last lesson for the 10 step Bible Study, yay! (thank you s. Mark!) Q: "What is the purpose of Bible study? A: To receive the salvation and to be fruitful.

What is the biggest problem in your life today? What do you need to solve it? We all think we know the biggest problem in our lives. We also think we know what it would take to solve it even a miracle! But are we right? In today’s passage, Jesus heals a paralyzed man. The fundamental problem of this man’s life seems obvious, so the solution should be just as obvious. However, Jesus had a different idea. This discrepancy leads to the Essential Question for our study today: What is each person’s greatest need?

Through our study today, we can begin to answer some of our most troubling questions: Why is there so much suffering in the world? How can human beings, who were made in the image of God, be so selfish, heartless and cruel? Given the state of the world, how can we believe in a God who is good, loving and omnipotent? Our passage today seems very dark indeed, but as the subtitle indicates, we can find hope in it. Therefore, we have two Essential Questions for our study today: (1) Why do people decide to sin? (2) What are the consequences?

What is paradise? Everyone has their own idea. If you google paradise, you will find a lot of photos of white sandy beaches, deep blue water and palm trees. To parents of young children, paradise means no children even for just a few hours. To students, paradise means an A+ on every exam. Ultimately, paradise is whatever makes us happy. Therefore the Essential Question for our study today is this: What do people really need to be happy?
