France 2015 St. Helena High School

It is always a pleasure to come back to Paris. I first visited back in 1987 as a young man of 19 years old. Paris has changed much since then but it is always elegant, impressive, and inspiring. Our diligent chaperons and helpful students were up to the task of a smooth hotel check in. After being on the same bus for the past 3 days, there was lots to unload, and get into the hotel. After check-in and a short briefing on staying safe in Paris, we headed off to the Left Ban...k and our dinner location, a nice little creperie. Students got to choose a dinner (savory) crepe, then a dessert crepe. It was a great way to spend the first few hours of our time in Paris, and a great locale, 10 mins from the hotel and just steps from the Pantheon. After dinner, Mr. Howell led the students on a walking tour on to the Ile de la Cité and over to the Marais. They also had their first trip on the Métro coming back. The evening lights illuminating the cathedral and the twinkling Eiffel Tower in the distance had more than one person drying tears from their eyes, as it was hard to believe it was all real.
