With the announcement today that Santa Barbara County is moving into the red tier on Wednesday and restaurant operations will be allowed at 25% capacity we are stillgonna take a minute before we go back in. We have set ourselves pretty well for dining outside and we have extended a bit more patio that has allowed to be more flexible with our seatings, etc. Honestly I have some many damn heaters outside that is warmer than it is inside with the windows and the doors open. Also... the way we do our bookings we have already set up April and that would mean changing our labor model which we are not interested in. So looking to May when more have had a chance to be vaccinated if they want and the weather is a bit warmer. We want to thank for hanging with us outside in 30 degree weather, wind and some rain here and there. Thanks for your unwavering support. As 2020 comes to a close, one thing has become clear to us. We have been humbled and inspired by the support of our team, guests, collaborators and the @visitsyv / @visit.losalamos.ca community. When we decided to open a @indprestaurants in Los Alamos, we could have never imagined navigating a global pandemic. But with your support and patronage we’ve not only stayed the course this year - we’ve been honored with awards from @foodandwine, @esquire and @michelinguide, launched... a non-profit @feedthevalley_syv, and discovered that y’all love a good concept change sometimes in @oui_bar (not to mention our friend and colleague @prieditebarbecue and THOSE LINES) From December 24th through January 6th, we’ll be giving our team some well-deserved time off (paid, thanks to y’all) so we can reset, reboot and come back in the new year. But before then, swing by Wednesday the 23rd to pick up last minute wines, merch and gift cards and whether provisions we might have (BBQ is definitely sold out though). @elderflatfarm will be there too for your needs. On the eve of the next stimulus deal we thought we would share with you a bit of a level-set brought to you by @indprestaurants We appreciate all you have done for us, We need to let you know that Congress’ proposed $908 billion compromise bill will be a death sentence for our restaurant and thousands more like ours. We’re one of the only industries asked by the government over and over again to close our doors, and this bill does not offer any plan to ensure we can fully r...eemploy our staff in the months ahead. Just 10 weeks of payroll isn’t enough to make up for months and months of lost revenue after we’ve opened, closed, pivoted, reopened, and closed again. This bill will not do enough to protect our staff of 20 and the 11 million Americans who work in independent restaurants and bars. If Congress can create special relief programs for music venues and airlines, they must do the same for neighborhood restaurants. 90% of the nearly $800 billion restaurants normally earn goes back into our communities. Over five million farmers, fishermen, bakers, butchers and other small support depends on our businesses to survive, too. We are absolutely vital for the individuals, families and communities we employ. Even after this package is passed and there is no direct relief for restaurants we ask that you continue to call your representatives...I know it might not seem like it - but even with a vaccine on its way the first quarter of 2021 is going to be an extinction event for restaurants, we are not out or this...not even close. There have been a few mantras this year so far. #StaySafe #StayFranch, #FranchFighters etc. With Lockdown Season 2 upon us we thought of another mantra for the pun army out there. #OuiGotThis Its something that we try and say to each other throughout the days, weeks and months of this pandemic. So as we do we decided along with the help of Graham Bradley @roxaboxenstudio @garmentdecor to get a T-shirt out there for some ‘pay it forward merchandise’ Pre-order is now live at our shop on the site.
