Wendy Sparks Teacher of the year Wendy Sparks is currently a Math TOSA at Baxter Elementary. In this role she has moved Baxter’s intervention program from a pull out program to a co-teaching model where students are supported in the classroom by two teachers and benefit from working with on track peers. ... Wendy Sparks is a consummate professional with a growth mindset. She is driven to improve her individual craft and the instructional program for students at Baxter and in the Bellflower Unified School District. She actively seeks out professional development that is based on the needs of students. She is a key member of many District instructional leadership groups, including, the Assessment team, and the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team and a mentor for new teachers through our Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) program. Congratulations and a heartfelt thank you for all of her work for the students of BUSD and Baxter Elementary.

BUSD Families, On behalf of the Board of Education, We are excited to welcome your students virtually when school starts tomorrow Tuesday, August 18th. I also want to advise everyone that Southern California is expecting the need to conduct rolling outages over the next few days. Additionally, the fires could cause some systems to experience lapse in service. If this disrupts a class session, please be patient, the teacher will reconnect with the class or communicate through... Google Classroom or Seesaw as soon as possible. Remember to see the FAQ from last Friday to assist your student in logging on to Google Classroom. All students should check their email tonight or later today for directions from their teachers and log into Google classroom per the site schedule. If you need additional assistance, or still need a device, please contact your school using the email address below the pictures on the school website.
