Are children always angels? We know that they often mimic what they see and what they hear That’s why taking the time for thoughtful compliments can have a lasting impact. When we compliment our kids, we’re reinforcing their values and shaping what THEY value in themselves and others! ... When you say, You make everyone feel welcome, or You make the people around you feel wonderful, you’re doing so much more than giving a compliment to your child... Yes, an observation like that makes your child feel good. It also reminds them that inclusion is important. It reinforces the idea that kindness is admirable. And that empathy is a trait to be proud of. Taking this time to gently encourage your child to think about their positive, kind, welcoming personality allows THEM to focus on those intangible strengths. They feel proud They repeat that positive behavior which will deepen their understanding of what it means to make positive relationship choices. Social-emotional development and making healthy choices are a huge part of our curriculum. Giving children the tools to be emotionally healthy is what we do! Praise is a powerful character-building tool that we’re happy to share with you. www.beginningslc.com

What is your inner voice like? Do your parent’s instructions still play in your head when you’re encountering life? Self-talk comes mostly from what we were exposed to, what WE, at some point, have been told. ... It’s awe-inspiring to think that way we talk to our children will influence them for a lifetime The way we talk to children shapes their inner dialogue! All the words of wisdom, guidance, caution, and the sayings that have been passed down from generation to generation in your family, your child absorbs it all. Speaking positively to our children builds a stronger bond with them lets them know they are loved helps them to develop listening gives them higher self-esteem increases their self-confidence We’re here to help give your child the most positive self-talk possible. What is something that your parents or a teacher said that continues to shape you today? www.beginningslc.com
