Fresh Beer alert!!! We just tapped in "Golden" a Bohemian (or Czech Style) Pilsner from our friends at @fremontbrewing in Seattle. It's truly a beautiful Pilsner, nose has lemon and honey (I also get cracker aromas but I was the only one). Flavor is a little sweet up front and then dries out with a bitter finish, I could drink these all day. It also just happens to be one of our favorite breweries so we're extra excited to have it on tap to share with you! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...>>>>>>>>> If you notice I keep saying (or typing) "Bohemian" and "Czech" Pilsner that's because the two main style of Pilsners are "Czech"/"Bohemian" (Both mean the same thing) and "German Pilsners". The first Pilsner ever brewed was in the town of Pilsner, the capital of Czech Bavaria (thus the terms) in 1842. Germany (and the world really) soon adopted the style, Pilsner is now the most popular style of beer in the world. For anyone keeping score at home, Pilsner is a type of lager and thanks to the Pilsner style most people think of lagers as pale in color but that wasn't really a thing until Pilsners came along. The two styles use different malts and hops and are similar as a whole but there are subtle (and not so subtle differences) differences. The general rule of thumb is that Czech/Bohemian Pilsners tend to be a little darker in color and have more depth and a richer mouthfeel while German Pilsners tend to be drier and noticeably spicier and more herbaceous/floral. The style is slightly tart and a little bit salty, in this case thanks to the addition of Pacific sea salt, sort of like a margarita and a beer had a baby. Claremont also throws some raspberries into this brew and it ends up being one of our favorite patio sippers (or patio pounders). Our patio seating is very limited right now as we observe all safety measures to protect our guests, team and neighbors. Please be aware of our current policies as we follow all city, county and state guidelines:... - our staff are all wearing masks at all times. Guests are required to be wearing a mask at all times UNLESS they are seated. - We are temperature checking every team member before each shift and all guests as they enter. Unfortunately we cannot offer service to anyone registering a temperature. (Team members who register a temperature may not work that day or again until they test negative for Covid-19. - Our inside dining area is closed. (You may pass through to use our restrooms, but your mask has to be on and drinks must stay outside) -All ordering is done at our outside order window. You MUST have a mask on the be at the window. (Pretend you’re robbing us. Note: please not rob us) -Drinks are received at the service window. Food orders will be delivered at the delivery window on the patio by calling out the number for your order. Just listen for the ding-ding of the bell followed by your number, take your number to the window (mask on, remember!) and grab your tasty treats - All checks with alcohol on them must also have food on them, including to-go orders. This isn’t the best, but, bonus, we can sell you alcohol to go right now! - We are not accepting cash payments at this time. Sorry, we love dollar dollar bills too, but they’re not the best idea right now. We know, it’s a lot of rules, we don’t like rules either but it’s what we have to do to be safe and remain open to serve you. The more we can all practice responsible behavior the sooner we can get back to normal. -we’re sanitizing everything, a lot. Before we open, between guests and after close.
